Brian Hughes

Presented by Brian Hughes, Vice President of Strategic Programs, Eastern Communications Ltd

Brian has 44 years’ experience in the land mobile radio and he has held executive positions with Motorola, GE, LM Ericsson and Eastern Communications Ltd. These positions have included managing sales, marketing and distribution organizations in the United States as well as serving as the Director of Asia Pacific for Ericsson’s land mobile unit headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a long time commercial member of APCO, Brian has served eight years on APCO’s Commercial Advisory Council (CAC), served as the CAC’s representative on APCO’s Board of Directors and was a Charter Member of APCO’s Conference and Exposition Advisory Committee.

Brian has also served as the host and presenter for the Career Advancement Center at APCO’s annual conference. In addition, Brian has addressed professional and trade seminars in Europe, Australia, China, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia as well as student and professional groups in the United States.

After 36 years as a public safety communications professional, Beth English is a believer in PSAP QA. She has seen firsthand, the positive effects QA can have on an agency, both internally and externally. Beth has been a popular trainer, presenting at state and national telecommunicator training conferences on topics that have included contingency planning, public education, employee recognition, in addition to productive and constructive criticism. She earned her Master Telecommunicator Proficiency Certification from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and served as President of the Texas Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA). During her time with us at Commercial Electronics, Beth wore multiple hats including developing this webinar training series geared toward public safety telecommunicator professionals which we continue to make available.
